Toshiba Announces First Chromebook with 13-inch Screen at CES 2014

Toshiba's sub-$300, 13.3-inch Chromebook is the company's first.

At International CES 2014, Toshiba has announced its first foray into the Chromebook market with a 13.3-inch model, scheduled for release on February 16, 2014 for $279.99.

The Toshiba Chromebook will come equipped with a screen resolution of 1366 x 768, a fourth-gen (Haswell) Intel processor, 16GB of solid-state storage, and 2GB of RAM. While this laptop is the first Chromebook to sport a 13.3-inch screen, it only measures 0.8 inches thick and weighs just 3.3 pounds. Toshiba lists battery life at approximately 9 hours.

Other features include two USB 3.0 ports, a full-size HDMI output, an SD card reader, Bluetooth 4.0, and dual-band WiFi.
