Last year, our favorite budget laptop, the Acer Aspire E15 won our hearts. It came with everything you'd want from a laptop—the latest Intel chips, enough RAM, a big HD screen, and even a decent keyboard and trackpad. For 2017, there's a new, cheaper version of the E15 on the market. This E15 version sports the latest 7th generation Intel chip inside, and it's a nice option for simple, day-to-day usage.

{{ amazon name="Acer Aspire E 15", asin="B01K1IO3QW", align="right" }} While this version drops the Nvidia graphics of the $550 spec, there's still plenty to love with this much cheaper version. With 4 GB RAM, and a 1 TB HDD, alongside that Intel i3 chip, it's still a very attractive package.

To be completely frank, you won't find a lot of the features, like an HD screen and a backlit keyboard, in models less than $400 from most manufacturers. At $350, Acer's made another solid laptop that's got the guts to go far, and that is also surprisingly easy to upgrade when you want to make it better for a little more money.
